HRS is launching daily hotel deals with price reductions of at least 50 per cent
Every day a new deal – From 1 December 2011, Europe's leading hotel portal HRS is offering selected accommodation deals at a special price, every day. At www.hrs-deals.de, every day you can find a top hotel at a rate at least 50 per cent below the lowest HRS price. This distinguishes HRS deals from the offers of other providers, whose discounts are often based on the highest rate. The offers are exclusively available for booking at www.hrs-deals.de and the HRS iPhone app.

HRS becomes Deutsche Bahn's exclusive hotel partner
HRS and German railway provider, Deutsche Bahn, agree a strategic partnership to expand their successful cooperation. In future, HRS will be the sole hotel portal partner of bahn.de. Deutsche Bahn is using HRS's booking system to increase its involvement in the travel portal bahn.de. The HRS booking screen can now be accessed directly via the Deutsche Bahn homepage. This means that it will now be even easier for train passengers to find the right hotel in their destination.

iPhone app from HRS scores well in PC-WELT test
In a test for respected specialist magazine PC-WELT, the new HRS iPhone app achieved an above-average overall score of 1.35 and was awarded the rating „very good“. It was rated particularly highly in terms of data security and design. The HRS app also scored very highly for user-friendliness, functionality and information & support. The testers were also really impressed with the absence of any adverts.

HRS acquires majority in hotel.de AG
HRS announced today that the company is to acquire 61.6% of the shares of worldwide hotel reservation service hotel.de AG from the founding shareholders. With this acquisition, HRS will now own a total of 64.6% of the company, By taking this step, HRS is advancing its position as a market leader in Europe. hotel.de AG will continue to be run as an independent company by the existing management team.

HRS is launching a new TV campaign, focusing on its almost 40 years of expertise and professional services that help its users find the right hotel. Under the slogan „HRS – The hotel portal“ the ads highlight the vast experience of HRS's hotel experts whilst also mentioning the hotel portal's wide range of offers.

HRS with new iPhone app and revamped mobile website
HRS is now offering a new version of its successful, free hotel booking app for iPhone and iPod touch and is optimising its mobile website http://mobile.hrs.de. This will make the hotel searching and booking process even more convenient and offer users helpful services while they are on the move.

HRS simplifies booking process for business travellers
In order to make access to special corporate discounts easier for small and medium-sized enterprises, HRS is now offering business travellers renewed access to its free corporate customer area. This area is accessible from the „Business travel“ tab on the www.HRS.de site. In their own personal „My HRS“ customer area, business travellers can obtain corporate customer discounts with savings of up to 30%.

HRS expands group and conference business
HRS is establishing a new „Groups & Conferences“ business unit in order to continue strengthening its market position in the groups and conference sector. Every third night spent in a hotel in Germany is related to the meeting and conference business. To take full advantage of this market, HRS provides its approximately 32,000 conference hotel members with free online tools that allow them to request and process conferences or group travel quickly and simply.

New hotel rating service by guests for guests
With HRS, guests can now give a more individual rating for their stay. From now on, guests' personal comments about the hotel they have visited will be published, in addition to the previous scoring system. This means that future guests will receive useful information and valuable guidance when choosing their hotel.

HRS has web app for Google Chrome
HRS is one of the first ten German partners to develop its own online app for Google's internet browser, Chrome. One click gives Chrome users access to 250,000 hotels in every category across 180 countries.

HRS optimises Hotel Service Portal
HRS optimises its service for member hotels: Now, a single log-on to the Hotel Service Portal is sufficient to launch all online applications, such as Hotel Data Maintenance or Hotel Self Administration. Previously, hoteliers have had to identify themselves with their hotel number, user name and password separately for each application they wanted to use.

Excellent customer orientation: Handelsblatt and the University of St. Gallen honour HRS
HRS is one of the 50 companies in Germany with the best customer orientation. HRS receives this award from the financial newspaper Handelsblatt and the renowned University of St. Gallen. As part of the competition „Germany's Most Customer-Orientated Service Provider 2011„, the customer orientation of various companies was tested according to seven criteria. HRS was able to score through, amongst other things, its varied communication routes, via which customers can contact the company. The fact that HRS meets customer wishes quickly also impressed the testers.

Own booking engine and HRS seal of quality for hotel websites
Ever more guests are booking their hotels online. When choosing accommodation, good guest reviews on the Internet are a key decision-making aid and may be a decisive factor in making a booking. As from now, HRS can offer connected hotels both a booking and an evaluation module for their websites. The two modules, so-called widgets, are available free of charge for download in the hotel service portal.

HRS and Germanwings seal the extension of their exclusive partnership for a further three years
Success connects: HRS and Germanwings have extended their long-term partnership for a further three years. The agreement was signed today at the world's largest tourism fair, ITB Berlin. In addition, HRS also announced the optimisation of the technical integration, in order to simplify hotel bookings for flight customers yet further and to offer an even better level of service.

HRS co-operates with Austrian city websites
HRS is the new hotel partner of the two websites www.wien.info and www.salzburg.info. From now on, the two websites will also contain the HRS booking engine. This means that visitors to the two websites are not only able to find comprehensive information on the destination, but can also find the right hotel room quickly and easily from the wide range on offer from HRS.

HRS has new corporate customer area
Fresh layout and restructure navigation, HRS Europe's leading hotel portal has completed revised its corporate customers area. The new design increases transparency and improves the portal's user friendliness. How different user groups such as travel managers, assistants, controllers and business travellers are addressed was also improved so that they can now find information that is relevant to them much quicker. The number of corporate customers, who make their hotel bookings though HRS, increased last year by roughly 25 percent to currently more than 25,000 companies.

COMPUTERBILD rates HRS data protection as "Good"
The COMPUTERBILD magazine tested how internet services and online shops handle customer data in its 5/2011 issue. The result: HRS is the only company in the "Travel and Traffic" section to receive the overall grade of "Good" for data protection. Rated as very good at HRS: at the end of the day customer data is passed on to the booked hotel.

HRS is rated "Best Hotel Portal 2011"
The German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) tested nine hotel portals with regard to their booking service and terms and conditions on behalf of n-tv, the news channel. HRS was rated as "Best Hotel Portal 2011" The hotel portal convinced with individual advice and an extensive range of hotels and good prices.

Readers of the independent Business Traveller magazine have now voted HRS into first place seven years in a row. HRS received the prestigious award in both the "Best Web Site for Travel Providers'" category and the overall "Best Web Site for Business Travellers" category.

Augmented reality integrated into the HRS App for the first time
For the first time there is an augmented real view available in the Android App, known in the IT world as Augmented Reality. With "Hotels Now!", users can choose this view now in addition to the list of results and map with a GPS-based search: to do this they use their smartphone's camera and an image of the surroundings of the available hotels appears in real-time. By selecting a hotel, more information can be shown and the favourite can be booked directly from the mobile phone.
